Pearson PTA Board Interest Form - 2025-2026 school year

Please fill out the form below to be considered for a 2025-2026 Pearson PTA Board, which includes the Executive Board and Committee Chair positions. The form closes at 11:59pm on 2/14/25. *You may select several positions that would be of interest to you. Below, you will have the opportunity to list your preferences in order.

The Executive Board election will take place at the March PTA meeting. Committee Board Members will be selected and contacted by email in May. We appreciate your support of Pearson's PTA! 

PRESIDENT (Executive Board)

Provides board leadership and coordinates the work of the officers and committees of the board in accordance with the standing rules and bylaws. Presides at all PTA meetings, assists the Treasurer in setting up a budget, and works closely with the Pearson principal in coordinating activities within the school. Represents Pearson PTA at all school and district level meetings as required.

1st VP/ MEMBERSHIP (Executive Board)

In charge of membership. Acts as an aide to the president. Presides in the absence of the president (in their designated order). Provides leadership in assisting other board committees as needed. Overseas the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award process.

 

2nd VP/ PROGRAMS (Executive Board)

Collaborates with the Pearson administration to support ongoing programs, including, but not limited to Career Day. Works with the administration to bring new programs that fit the need and interest of the student body. Presides in the absence of the president (in their designated order).

3rd VP/ FUNDRAISING (Executive Board)

In charge of fundraising. Primarily responsible for obtaining corporate sponsorship, and for planning the Annual Color Run held in October. Presides in the absence of the president (in their designated order).

SECRETARY (Executive Board)

Records, publishes and keeps the minutes of all PTA meetings, and maintains copies of all organization documents.

 

TREASURER (Executive Board)

Performs all financial duties including budgets, checks, deposits and tax filings; keeps accurate financial records, and presents financial statements at PTA meetings.


PARLIAMENTARIAN (Appointed by the president)

Advises the board and members on matters of parliamentary procedure. Maintains copies of current governing documents - bylaws, standing rules, policies and parliamentary authority. Confer with president prior to the meeting regarding business items on the agenda. Advises the president on points of parliamentary procedure.

 

HISTORIAN
Take pictures of PTA and school events to compile a yearly photo album.
 
COUNCIL DELEGATE
Attend Frisco Council of PTA's meetings, take notes, and report back to the Pearson PTA executive board. Act as a voting member of the Frisco Council of PTA's representing Pearson PTA.
 
ARTS IN EDUCATION
Promote the PTA Reflections program and coordinate the student submissions of art, music, literature, and dance.
 
BOOK FAIR
Plan and promote fall and spring book fairs. Manage all aspects of book fair, including but not limited to: staffing, scheduling, inventory, customer service, and finances.
 
COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible for updating the Pearson PTA website, the Pearson PTA Facebook page, and Class pages. Oversees the creation of forms and signups and manages all aspects of communication.
 
COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Set up and manage any board-approved store, restaurant, and/or product-related program to generate revenue and build community partnerships. Promote Box Tops for Education to earn money for the school.
 
CONCESSIONS - BASKETBALL
Chair will manage the basketball concession stand for Pearson home games that are played at Pearson; chair will purchase and stock the concession booth per FISD guidelines and will maintain the cash box. Committee members will assist chair with stocking as needed and will cover certain shifts. More volunteers are typically solicited by the Volunteer Coordinator and Pearson Coaches. YOU WILL NOT MISS YOUR CHILD PLAY.

CONCESSIONS - FOOTBALL
Chair will manage the concession stand for Pearson home games that are played at Reedy High School; chair will purchase and stock the concession booth per FISD guidelines and will maintain the cash box. Committee members will assist chair with stocking as needed and will cover certain shifts. More volunteers are typically solicited by the Volunteer Coordinator and Pearson Coaches. YOU WILL NOT MISS YOUR CHILD PLAY.

Chair will manage the Volleyball concession stand for Pearson home games that are played at Pearson; chair will purchase and stock the concession booth per FISD guidelines and will maintain the cash box. Committee members will assist chair with stocking as needed and will cover certain shifts. More volunteers are typically solicited by the Volunteer Coordinator and Pearson Coaches. YOU WILL NOT MISS YOUR CHILD PLAY.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES
Works with the Pearson teacher liaison to promote the Annual Walk to School Day in October; works with the Pearson coaches to support Field Day in the Spring.
 
HOSPITALITY
Coordinates, organizes, and decorates for staff luncheons, staff birthday treats, and teacher appreciation events.

MINI-GRANTS
Chair will publicize the grant program which is offered twice a year and open to teachers, staff, and students. Committee will review and evaluate applications, and determine funding.

RED RIBBON WEEK
Work with the Pearson counselors to coordinate Red Ribbon Week activities typically held in October.  
 
SPIRIT WEAR
Manages School Spirit Items by collaborating with a designer, obtaining approval from Pearson Admin, and then ordering the items to arrive before August. Also responsible for promoting the items and selling items at various PTA events throughout the year, including the Build the Beat all-school pep rally in August, and Patriot Prep 6th Grade Orientation also in August. (This position is busy late June to August and then lightens up considerably.)
 
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Coordinates volunteers for various needs of the PTA through the use of Sign up Genius/VOLY/Membership Toolkit; volunteers are as needed throughout the year.
